POLICE are investigating reports of air guns being fired illegally in Wrexham.

North Wales Police has had reports of residents in the Gardden Road area of Pant finding, what is believed to be air rifle pellets in their gardens.

Although it is not illegal to own certain air weapons, it is illegal to fire the missile outside of the premises of the owner, unless you have consent from the occupier of those other premises.

It is also an offence to discharge an air weapon within 50 feet of the centre of a public road as to endanger or impede any road user and carry an air weapon in any public place without a lawful excuse.

PCSO Enya Bellis-Jones said: "Not only is it illegal to fire the missile of an air weapon outside the keepers address it is also highly dangerous, the consequences of not firing the weapon securely could cause injury to people or wildlife or cause damage to property.
