WREXHAM AFC co-chairman Rob McElhenney has heaped praise onto one of the club's star men as he selects his favourite goal.

The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor took over at the north Wales club alongside friend and fellow actor Ryan Reynolds in early 2021.

And the club has enjoyed incredible success ever since, even making it back-to-back promotions over the weekend.

Wrexham's emphatic 6-0 win at home to Forest Green Rovers saw them secure a move up to EFL League One for the 2024/25 season.

Ahead of that huge victory, Rob took to X (previously Twitter) to pick out his favourite goal by club talisman Paul Mullin.

Having moved to Wrexham from Cambridge United in 2021, the striker has recently just passed the 100-goals mark for the Reds, so there was plenty of strikes for Rob to choose from.

And of all the wonderful goals Mullin has bagged so far for Wrexham, Rob chose one which showed his 'perseverance, hustle and grit'.

That came in a 4-1 win over Crawley Town earlier this month.

Rob said: "This may be my favourite goal of his.

"Not a game winner or anything fancy. Just perseverance, hustle and grit. @PMullin7 knows the people in that stadium didn’t pay their hard-earned wage to watch guys give 95%.

"They deserve 100% and he gives it to them ALL. THE. TIME."

Wrexham now have matches again Crewe Alexandra (away) and fellow promoted side Stockport County (home) before moving on to life in EFL League One.
