He threatened the victim he'd 'pull the knife out' before making off with cigarettes and alcohol.

In what he later described as a "moment of madness," his dad opened the car door - allowing the defendant to flee.

It followed numerous shoplifting offences he'd committed just days earlier.

Wrexham teen jailed for drugs offences in Caia Park

The Leader: Aaron Thomas (NWP)Aaron Thomas (NWP) (Image: North Wales Police)This man found himself in the dock after a police investigation into county lines drug dealing identified a mobile number being used to send "flare" messages, advertising heroin and cocaine.

The defendant was found to have the mobile phone on him, as well as wraps of cocaine and heroin, when police stopped and searched him.

Wrexham man jailed for violent abuse towards partner

As well as punching her to the head, he slammed her face into the floor and made to strangle her, as well as attempting to put a plastic bag over her head.

It was said on his behalf that the defendant "was engaged by pressure, coercion and intimidation."

Glyn Ceiriog man jailed for dangerous drink-drive chase

What followed was a lengthy police pursuit around the centre of Wrexham before he was finally stopped at a roundabout.

Sealand man locked up after making threats with axe
The Leader: Alan Morris (NWP)Alan Morris (NWP) (Image: North Wales Police)A court heard this defendant subjected his then partner to a "catalogue of domestic abuse."

His treatment of her included: stamping on and kicking her, strangling her, threatening her and verbally abusing her in various ways.

After the victim ended the relationship he also threatened to attack any new partners with an ice axe - and even posted a picture of the weapon on social media.
