A MUCH-LOVED comedian has reacted to his first visit to Wrexham as part of a tour he's currently on.

Gary Delaney is a razor sharp one-liner comedian, who is widely regarded as being one of the most quotable comics on the circuit.

Gary was a regular guest on Mock The Week and has also appeared on Dave's 'One Night Stand', Comedy Central's 'Comedy Blue' and on Channel 4's 'Robert's Web' as well as Radio 4's 'Loose Ends' and Radio 2's 'Russell Kane's Whistle-Stop Tour'.

His debut show 'Purist' was a big hit at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010, selling out every night and receiving many four and five star reviews.

This week, the star of 'Live at the Apollo' and sell out sensation brought his 'Gary In Punderland' show to Wrexham.

Guests were treated to an evening full of unrivalled gags at William Aston Hall on Wednesday, November 14.

And the comedian has reacted to his visit to the venue, via X (formerly known as Twitter).

The 50-year-old, who is from Solihull, added that he even managed to squeeze in a visit to Wrexham AFC's STok Cae Ras home ground along the way.

Taking to X after his Wrexham show, Gary said: "Gary in Punderland 364. 15 to go. First time in Wrexham @WilliamAstonWXM. A fab and filthy warm Welsh welcome. We also popped in to see the grounds and met some famous faces too. Ace support was Andy Robinson."

In a separate X post, he replied to a fan saying; "Thanks for having me. It was a delight. What a crowd."

Fans on Delaney's Facebook page were also left impressed by his Wrexham show.

Writing underneath the comedian's post on there, Gareth Edwards said: "Absolutely amazing night, thank you Gary Delaney, my ribs are killing me."
