A POPULAR fast-food chain restaurant has confirmed it will be opening a new premises in Wrexham's city centre.

The UK-based chain Pizza Hut, located in Wrexham's Central Retail Park, sadly closed its doors on Saturday, September 30 after being given two-weeks' notice.

It was rumoured that the fast-food chain McDonald's would be taking over the lease - and it has now been officially confirmed.

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "We are currently on-site at Wrexham’s Central Retail Park undertaking surveys with a view to opening a new restaurant in early Spring 2024."

The announcement has now been confirmed after the chain had explored a number of opportunities in the wider area.

It is rumoured that a number of roles at the new restaurant will be given to those who sadly lost their jobs working at Pizza Hut.

Pizza Hut has been part of Wrexham for over 17 years and the announcement stirred mixed opinions among loyal customers and residents.

Further updates and progress on the new building will follow.
