WREXHAM'S dramatic opening day National League win left their celebrity co-owners delighted.

The Reds came from behind late on to beat Eastleigh 2-1 at the Racecourse in what was the first match of the 22/23 campaign on Saturday, August 6.

New signing Elliott Lee was the star of the show as he scored both goals to get Wrexham off to a flier.

And both Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney - who officially took the club over in early 2021 - were seemingly buzzing following those three points.

The Deadpool and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia stars have certainly created a new buzz both on and off the pitch in Wrexham since that takeover was completed.

Fans will even get a behind the scenes look at how the pair's journey has unfolded so far when the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary launches at the end of this month.

And as well as being at the Racecourse and even some away matches, the duo have spent plenty of time in the community over recent months too.

After the result on Saturday, Rob hinted that it wouldn't be long before he's back in North Wales once more.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "Up the Town! See you soon!!!"

And Ryan was also in great spirits having seen the title-chasing Reds open their new campaign with a victory.

He simply wrote: "I love this town!"

Following the win over Eastleigh, Wrexham sit seventh in the National League table.

Phil Parkinson's side will now face a trip to Yeovil Town next on Saturday, August 13.
