WREXHAM University has spoken of its pride in being ranked joint second for student satisfaction, despite finishing bottom in the overall rankings. 

The Complete University Guide (CUG) 2025 has released it's 2025 rankings of Universities in the UK. Their league tables rank the best universities in the UK, overall and in 74 subject areas.

In the overall rankings, Wrexham University came bottom of the list, with a score of 321 out of 1000. 

Next best was University of Bedfordshire in 129th place who had a score of 404, while University of Cambridge took top spot with 1000/1000.

Despite being ranked bottom of the pile, Wrexham University are taking the positives.

The university was ranked first in the UK for student satisfaction in the Nursing subject 2025 league table. This is the third year in a row that Nursing has topped the table.

While in further good news for the institution, Sociology subjects – in which the University offers courses in Criminology and Criminal Justice (BA Hons), Law and Criminal Justice (BA Hons), and Health and Wellbeing (with Foundation Year) Diploma of Higher Education – were also ranked first in the UK for student satisfaction for the second year in succession.

Meanwhile, the University has also been ranked first in Wales for student satisfaction, scoring an impressive 83%.

And as well as topping the league table for Wales, the institution ranked joint second in the whole of the UK for student satisfaction.
