TRACEY'S Cafe situated inside the Wrexham Butchers Market has reported it was targeted in a break-in over the May bank holiday weekend.

Currently in the middle of a complete refurbishment, the Butchers Market has been closed to the public since last year with the exception of Tracey's Cafe.

Sadly, over the bank holiday weekend the thieves broke into the building and stole the funds from the tip box as well as the charity boxes.

In a social media post, owners Tracey and Dave Rogers said: "We are extremely sad to report that over the Bank Holiday weekend thieves broke into our cafe and made off with money.

"The tip box was emptied and probably even more disgusting - charity boxes also stolen.

"Wrexham is a town that is known for its friendliness and we are so lucky to have so many wonderful regulars that have supported us over many years, sadly, all places there is a minority of undesirables and sadly we were a victim of such people this time.

"The police are currently investigating so hopefully they will be brought to justice.

"Special thank you as well to Harry at Marrubis cafe on Bank Street who treated us to free breakfasts and lifted our spirits on the morning of our discovery of the break in."
