A FIRM FAVOURITE among Wrexham AFC fans appeared on a much-loved TV show over the weekend.
More than four million viewers tuned into watch the finale of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on April 13.
Ant (Anthony McPartlin) and Dec (Declan Donnelly), who have paused their ITV1 entertainment series to “catch our breath”, signed off the 20th series in a star-studded two-hour final show from 7pm.
Household names like Holly Willoughby, Rylan Clark, Olly Murs, Davina McCall, Gino D’Acampo all joined the duo on the night, as well as S Club, Tony Hadley, Kaiser Chiefs and McFly.
But, Wrexham fans tuning in that night may have been surprised to find one of last season's promotion heroes also making an appearance.

In what could be the final Ant vs Dec challenge ever, the Geordie best mates competed in a football shoot-out, attempting to score past former Wrexham man Ben Foster.
The legendary goalkeeper - who memorably saved a Notts County penalty in the race for EFL promotion in April 2023 - faced a series of penalties, saving five of them.
In the end, it was Dec who claimed the ultimate Saturday Night Takeaway bragging rights.

Post-show, Foster - now 41 and retired from the game - even made it into Ant and Dec's epic X (previously Twitter) selfie.
Foster enjoyed a fantastic playing career, representing Manchester United, as well as the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Watford in the Premier League.
He also earned eight caps for England and had two separate spells with Wrexham in 2005 and 2023, winning the football league trophy and helping the club end 15 years of hurt to return to EFL League Two.
