From Star Wars actors to Game of Thrones stars, Wrexham is set to play host to some big-name celebrities this weekend as it hosts Wales Comic Con.

Mathew Horne (Gavin and Stacey), Emmett J. Scanlan (Fool Me Once and Peaky Blinders) and Mark Addy (Game of Thrones and The Full Monty) are among the guests set to attend Wales Comic Con: Homecoming at Wrexham University on Saturday and Sunday (April 6 and 7).

Ahead of this weekend's event, we have rounded up all the information you'll need from which guests are set to appear (and when) to how to get last-minute tickets and more.

When and where is Wales Comic Con?

Wales Comic Con 2024: Homecoming is set to take place at Wrexham University (LL11 2AW).

The event will run over the course of two days - Saturday (April 6) and Sunday (April 7).

From Harry Potter and Star Wars actors to Gavin and Stacey and Game of Thrones stars, there will be someone for everyone at this year's Comic Con.

  • Emmett J. Scanlan (Kin, Fool Me Once, Peaky Blinders) - Saturday only

There have been a number of stars that have pulled out prior to the event, according to the Wales Comic Con website.

The cancellations for this event (at the time of publication) are:

  • Alex Høgh Andersen
  • Alexander Ludwig
  • Moe Dunford

Tickets to this weekend's Comic Con event in Wrexham are still available via the website here.

Entry tickets to the event range in price from £5.99 to £119.99 while kids under the age of 11 get in free.

Those hoping to get a photo with their favourite movie or TV star will also have to pay for the privilege.

Cosplay rules

Wales Comic Con said: "Cosplay is a popular activitiy at Wales Comic Con, to ensure the safety of all attendees and to make sure your hard work doesn't end up confiscated, please make sure you thoroughly familiarise yourself with our rules and policies."

If you are planning on dressing up for the event here are some restrictions and guidelines you must consider:

Banned items

The following items are banned from the event:

  • Any metal blades
  • Explosives and incendiary devices
  • Pyrotechnics or fireworks
  • Actual guns, rifles or other firearms
  • Heavy bats and paddles
  • Strung bows or crossbows
  • Arrows or bolts with sharp tips
  • Protruding nails, barbed wire or other sharp items
  • Anything that is restricted or prohibited by UK law

The Wales Comic Con website adds: "There will be no exceptions made to the above rules, even if you have a special licence or training.

"Anyone found to be carrying any of the above items will have their items confiscated and may be removed from the event and/or reported to the police at the organisers discretion."

Costume information

  • Wales Comic Con is a family event and you should wear a costume that is appropriate - nudity and extremely revealing costumes are not permitted
  • Avoid anything that could be considered offensive
  • Nothing that could be considered overly disturbing to children or those of a sensitive disposition
  • Wristbands must be visible at all times
  • Very large costumes or those that heavily restrict your movement or vision are not recommended
  • Your costume should not include any sharp edges that could cause injury
