A YOUTUBE sensation is making the rounds in Wrexham this week as he reviews a classic Welsh dish in a favourite local cafe.

The highly popular YouTuber Danny Malin from the Rate My Takeaway series has travelled to Wrexham to review recommended spots.

After making a trip to Ty Pawb's Wing King in his last video which went down a treat, Danny couldn't stop there.

On a mission to try the traditional dish Welsh Rarebit for the first time, Danny makes his way to the award-winning Toast Deli and Cafe, run by husband and wife team, Claire and Paul Wright.

In the video, Danny said: "You guys have said that if I'm in Wrexham this is definitely the place I need to go to."

Claire happily takes his order of eggs benedict, Welsh rarebit and her personal recommendation of a mixed Welsh cheese toastie before Danny places his iconic chair and table on Charles Street.

"That guys, wow. That is absolutely bang on. Grilled to perfection" Danny says taking his first bite into the Welsh Rarebit.

Moving on to the toastie, Danny said: "It's toasted to perfection. The sourdough bread is absolutely incredible. It has a beautiful crunch, sweetness of the cranberry and saltiness of the bacon. This is delicious."

Owner Claire said: "I’d never heard of Rate My Takeaway before and they contacted me in the morning of their visit asking if they could order some menu items and do some filming as we had been recommended to them.

"Funny thing was we had some of the Welcome to Wrexham film crew dining with us at the same time. We are known more as a cafe than a take away so I was a bit surprised that they wanted to visit us.

"They picked three of the most popular menu items including the Welsh rarebit which apparently Danny hadn’t eaten before. He also ordered eggs benny and our brie, bacon and cranberry grilled cheese sandwich.

"As a cafe business it is always daunting to have your food reviewed but Danny seemed to enjoy it all. It’s great that Rate My Takeaway have chosen to visit Wrexham with everything that’s going on at the moment and hopefully it will help to boost even more tourism and visitors to the city.”
