THE KICK-OFF time for a crunch Wrexham AFC match later this month has been changed following a request from police.

The Reds are chasing back-to-back promotions and currently sit third in the EFL League Two table.

With five league games to go, a rise to the third tier now looks likely and fans will be looking forward to attending the final few matches.

They should be advised though that the kick-off time for their final away match of the season at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, April 20 has been changed from 3pm to 12.30pm.

That has come following a request from Cheshire Police, both clubs have confirmed.

The match is considered something of a derby with both clubs being less than an hour apart from one another.

Tickets to the fixture sold out within minutes - and these will not be impacted by the change to the kick-off time.

The last league meeting between the two ended in a 3-3 thriller at the STok Cae Ras in September.

Wrexham then beat Crewe 3-0 in the Football League Trophy a month later.

A statement from Crewe Alexandra FC on the upcoming match read: "Crewe Alexandra can confirm that our home League Two fixture with Wrexham will now kick-off at 12.30pm on Saturday, April 20.

"Originally scheduled for 3pm, the change has been made at the request of Cheshire Police.

"Season ticket holders and members can purchase one extra ticket now. From Monday, April 8, tickets will go on general sale to supporters with a previous purchase history."
