WREXHAM's famous landlord has received a special awareness gift from a Welsh children's cancer charity.

'Morgan's Army' is a charitable foundation based in Cardiff that supports families of children with cancer in South Wales.

Founded in 2023, the charity was set up by Natalie and Matthew Ridler, the parents of Morgan who sadly passed away in June last year, just a week before his fourth birthday.

Morgan's story received a following and has grown to support and inspire other families facing a similar journey.

The charity runs many campaigns, provides financial support, equipment grants, bereavement support and peer support events for families at different stages of the journey.

It also has an ongoing awareness project called 'Morgan's Rocks' which involves community projects allowing children to decorate rocks.

The charity has created gardens in different travel agents where they keep the decorated rocks. They ask people to help themselves, allowing them to be taken around the world with people when they travel, all as part of Morgan's legacy to spread the word.

A Morgan rock recently made it into the hands of Wayne Jones, landlord of Wrexham's Turf pub as featured in the AFC Welcome to Wrexham docu-series.

Morgan's Nana was raised in Wrexham and so the charity was delighted to present a rock to the "legendary Wayne."

Natalie said: "We loved the way Wales and Wrexham was portrayed to the world in the Welcome to Wrexham series. We were passing the Turf and decided to pop in to share Morgan's story with Wayne.
