THE team at a popular Flintshire chip shop, are welcoming customers back today after a makeover.

Crescent Fish and Chip Shop on Chester Road, in Flint, closed on December 22 for the refurb to take place.

Owner Chris Blackwell and his staff have worked round the clock since, to get it ready for today's re-opening, at 11.30am.

The business, in a prime spot on the coast road, was started in October 2000 by Carol and Geoff Blackwell, with Chris taking over from his parents about 12 years ago.

The 45-year-old only took Christmas Day off during the temporary closure, to make sure the takeaway was ship shape to welcome new customers and regulars.

Like most businesses, Crescent Fish and Chips have felt the pinch during the cost-of-living crisis but Chris added: "We've always had community support, and a good following from our regulars."

As well as all the usual chippy menu, the shop will still be serving its own pies, made just round the corner by Blacks Pies, as well as their own freshly baked rolls.

Chris said: "We try to keep as much as we can in-house. It's back to business as usual."
