A FESTIVAL of Light held at a Wrexham church during December has helped raise £1,500 for two very worthwhile causes.
The festival took place between December 6 and 9 at the All Saints Church in Gresford.
The vital funds were raised through raffles, craft stalls and donation buckets.
In all, £1,500 was raised to be shared equally between Hope House and Nightingale House Hospice.
A spokesperson for the church said: "A very big thank you to all those people from the village - and further afield - who came along to the Festival of Light.
"Together we have all managed to raise a whopping £1,500, to be shared equally between Hope House/TyGobaith and Nightingale House Hospices.
"Would you believe it - we had 28 raffle prizes to distribute. Thank you all once again for your help and your generosity, both with your time, talents and donations!"

The likes of Gresford WI members also took part in the festival by making stars and a Christmas tree out of recycled wire coat hangers.
A statement from Nightingale House Hospice after hearing of the donation read: "Thank you so much to All Saints Church who held a beautiful Festival of Light in the weeks leading up to Christmas to raise money for Nightingale House in support of patient care.
"The festival raised £761.30 – how incredible is that? We are so grateful to everyone who attended and to the team who worked so hard to make this event possible.
"All Saints Church have been supporting us for a number of years now and we will always be very grateful to them for their support. Thank you so much."
