A new bakery in Wrexham has enjoyed its opening days of trading in the city centre.

Reggies Artisan Bakery and Kitchen opened its doors on Monday (September 5) following months of hard work.

Owner, Richard Sonner has worked in the industry since he was 15 years old, mainly occupying roles in gastro-eating or fine dining.

However, he has now decided the time is right to open his own bakery, a project he is 'super excited' about.

Reggie's is located in the building previously run as EmzCakes, which closed down in December.

After hoping to open doors on Saturday, Richard had to put the opening back until Monday.

It was a case of being 'thrown in at the deep end' for Richard and the team at Reggies as the Tour of Britain came to town.

But it's been a good first few days for Reggies, Richard said: "Unfortunately we couldn't quite get everything over the line in time for Saturday.

"By Monday however everything was good to go and we got opened yesterday, it was a case of throwing ourselves in at the deep end as Wrexham was packed yesterday.

"It's been a really good start for us so far, we've had a really good reaction.

"We put a couple of posts on social media and the response to them has been crazy really.

"It's been promising for us and we're excited to carry on going. We've got a special menu on this week, but we are hoping to start putting on main meals for our customers.

"Come down and visit us and help support a new local business in Wrexham."
