A NEW bakery is set to open in Wrexham city centre.
Reggie's Artisan Bakery and Kitchen will open its doors next week, following months of hard work.
Owner, Richard Sonner has worked in the industry since he was 15 years old, mainly occupying roles in gastro-eating or fine dining.
However, he has now decided the time is right to open his own bakery, a project he is 'super excited' about.
Reggie's will occupy the building previously run as EmzCakes, which closed down in December.
Richard said that a lot of work has gone in, with the property being completely stripped and redone in order to bring out the Victorian features of the building, something that drew him into buying the property.
He added: "We've had everyone in the last few days, electricians, joiners, the lot it's been mad really.
"The building came on the market in January and I knew I wanted my own place, when it came up I decided I wanted to take it back to its real Victorian decor and the premises is perfect.

"Everything went through in May and we've been doing 12-hour days since, we've completely stripped it out and re-done it, tried to give it a bit of love.
"I'm super excited to get open now really. I think it's important to have small independent businesses in the town and the response and reaction we've had so far has been really nice.
"Hopefully our opening can be really positive and we can welcome the people of Wrexham to our artisan bakery."
