THE Gold Cape J D Wetherspoons in Mold was forced to temporarily close yesterday after an unwanted guest entered the pub.

A customer told the Leader that a wild pigeon was found inside the building flying around the rafters, claiming that it has happened numerous times before without the need to temporarily close down.

Eddie Gershon, from Wetherspoons Press Office, said: "The pub was closed yesterday afternoon when a pigeon got into the pub.

"In line with company process the pub re-opened around lunchtime today once the issue was resolved.

"We are not aware of this being a regular issue."

The Gold Cape has re-opened for customers and the matter has been dealt with accordingly - just in time for the weekend!
