FINDING new ways to fund patient care is crucial for Nightingale House Hospice. Whether through organised activities or serendipitous opportunities, the hospice constantly seeks avenues for funding.

Bethan Scott, a dedicated fundraiser for the Wrexham hospice, embarked on a mission to pay tribute to her late husband Dave's memory while also supporting Phase 4 of the hospice modernisation project. However, her journey took an unexpected twist when Andrew Hulme from ASH Waste Services, a subsidiary of the ASH Group, extended a remarkably generous offer.

Little did Bethan know that she would be presented with a signed Wrexham AFC shirt - the very same shirt bestowed upon the company as part of their sponsorship for the Man of the Match at the highly anticipated Wrexham AFC v Notts County game on April 10, 2023. Notably, it was Paul Mullin who aptly earned the distinguished Man of the Match accolade in the exhilarating match.

Upon receiving the valuable shirt, Bethan expressed her gratitude, saying: "I'm incredibly thankful to Andrew for donating this amazing Wrexham AFC shirt to help me raise funds for the hospice in Dave's memory."

In her quest to make a difference, Bethan decided to organise a prize draw, offering Wrexham fans a chance to win the highly sought-after fully signed Wrexham AFC shirt. This particular shirt holds great symbolism, marking a significant milestone in the recent success of the club, as they were subsequently promoted to the English Football League 2.

Bethan added: "I want everyone to realise that by purchasing a raffle ticket, they are contributing to providing others with the same invaluable opportunities and support that Dave and I once received at Nightingale House. Every penny raised holds tremendous significance, as it has the power to transform lives. I am incredibly grateful and overwhelmed by the support we have received, and the funds generated so far for Nightingale House from the sale of these raffle tickets."
