A SUCCESSFUL operation targeting drink drivers was led by Special Police Constables across the Flintshire area over the weekend.
Six Special Constables volunteered a combined total of 83 hours between Friday, June, 2 and Saturday, 3, in an effort to make Flintshire North and South roads safer for residents.
A total of 53 roadside breath tests were carried out and nobody was found to be driving under the influence by police, despite two tickets being issued for other matters.
The operation showcased how North Wales Police continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to drink and drug drivers.

Special Consables work on a voluntary basis. They are police officers who choose to dedicate their free time to assisting the force and community.
They carry the same equipment and powers as regular 'on duty' officers but choose to work their shifts in their spare time.
North Wales Police are currently recruiting for a Special Constable and more details can be found about the role on their website.
