A WREXHAM fan has spoken of his delight at having seen his beloved Reds finally achieve promotion.

Jack Edwards, 17, from Johnstown is still celebrating the fact the Reds are back in the Football League and has been revisiting memorabilia from past Wrexham promotions.

Jack had copies of the Leader from 1978, 2003 and 2023 following on from the Reds success.

After 15 long years in the National League, Wrexham are back in the Football League, much to the delight of the teen.

He said: "I'm a big Wrexham fan, I've been to many games over the years and am passionate about the club doing well, so the recent promotion is, without doubt, one of the best things to have happened to the town in recent times.

"Having the three newspapers from Wrexham's promotion in 1978, 2003 and 2023 tells a story of where the club has been and where it is going.

"I'm very interested in the history of Wrexham as a town in general, so to have items that reflect that allows me to understand that whilst not every aspect of the town is perfect, moments, where the club does well, can unite Wrexham and make it somewhere special.

"Hopefully there'll be more promotions to come in the near future, as I'd like to think that one day I could pass down the newspapers to my children.

"I would say that my dad is a much bigger Wrexham fan, as he was going to games as far back as the mid 1980s - and can remember attending a Welsh Cup game with less than 700 fans.

"He is the reason why I support the club and why I'm so happy about promotion.

"Whilst it's great that so many people internationally are now passionate about the club, I know firsthand how much it means to those who have supported the club through thick and thin."
