Wrexham AFC club captain Ben Tozer has called on Reds fans to "give everything" as they go in search of a return to the Football League this weekend.

Three points at the Racecourse against Boreham Wood on Saturday will see the Reds clinch the title and secure a return to League Two after 15 years in the National League.

It has been a monumental title race between Phil Parkinson's side and rivals Notts County, with the Reds one win away from being crowned Champions.

The Red Army has been in fine form throughout the season, with an average home attendance of close to 10,000 and backing them superbly on the road with games against Coventry City, Sheffield United, and Halifax Town standing out.

As Wrexham go in search of a Football League return against Luke Garrard's side, Wrexham's club captain believes the Reds fans could make all the difference in what he predicts to be a tough game.

"I can’t wait, I love just playing games and sometimes at the Racecourse the emotion of certain games, the Sheff United, Notts County and I'm sure it will be the same on Saturday, but that’s exciting as well when you feel the energy and you feel everything in the stadium, that gives you a little bit more," he said.

"They’re huge, you look at the record at home and the majority of that is down to them (the fans).

"Come, probably don’t get too drunk too early, enjoy the day and give us everything that you've got and we’ll give you everything back."

The Reds are up against the tightest defence in the league, with the Wood only conceding 35 goals this campaign.

Tozer is fully expecting a close contest on Saturday, he added: "Tough game, really really tough game, personally I think every game is tough because everyone can beat everyone.

"They kind of upset our momentum last season, they're a really tough, well-organised, almost meticulous team, it will be a really tough game and they’ll want to spoil the party.

"We’re going to have to be at our best, everyone will have to be at 100% and we can’t take our foot off the gas."
