THE finishing touches are being placed on a pub in Wrexham set to reopen its doors this weekend.

The Cross Foxes in Erbistock will reopen on Saturday at 3pm (April 8), four months after closing.

The pub was run for 25 years by Brunning and Price before Marston's decided not to renew the lease.

It has now been taken on by three brothers from Cheshire, who are looking forward to running their first pub.

Sean, Matt and Robbie Martin have been in the hospitality industry for a number of years, having experience at pubs such as the Bickerton Poacher and the Ship Inn, Handbridge.

Their excitement is building as they approach the reopening and are expecting a busy bank holiday weekend.

Sean said: "We've had the lease from Marston's and a lot of work has gone on, but it's just the finishing touches now.

"All will be sorted for the opening at 3pm on Saturday and we've already got a lot booked in for the first day which is great.

"The three of us have all be in the pub industry since we were about 14, so have a lot of experience, but this will be our first pub. It's scary and exciting at the same time.

"We've had a lot of positive comments, it will be different because Brunning and Price ran it for 25 years, but we've had good feedback.

"It will be all our own food and drink, and a lot of people have probably had our food before at one of the pubs we've worked at previously.

"We've got a live music act on Saturday night and it's starting to look busy, so everything seems to be heading in the right direction.

"We have opened telephone lines for bookings and soon we will be taking bookings through Facebook and online."
