With many fans turning up to queue before even 8.30am, there was a lengthy queue of around 30 people by the time the ticket offices opened at 9am.

Ioan Jones, a keen Wrexham supporter, had delayed appointments to make sure he could guarantee his ticket for the concert.

Speaking of the changes he has seen in Wrexham over the past two years he said: "It has been incredible, beyond people's wildest dreams I think."

He had high hopes for Wrexham's future, he said: "After last night we are top of the league, with a game in hand. We are going all the way and I think next year we may even go up again."

The Wrexham AFC supporter predicted that in 10 years time Wrexham may be playing in the premiership, which scored a laugh from nearby fans in the queue.

He said: "We probably won't win it but we'll be making the champions league."
