A DEESIDE bar and grill is getting set to reopen its doors after re-branding a major revamp.

The former GTs Bar & Grill, in Wepre, Connah's Quay, closed its doors on January 15.

However, the Leader reported that it wasn't to be goodbye forever - and can now reveal when it will reopen to the public.

Now named The Wepre Bar & Grill, it is still be owned by Gastro Taverns Ltd, but has a new management and kitchen team in place for the relaunch on Saturday, February 4.

All existing Front of House staff will remain in place with additional new staff joining them.

Steve Saxon, operations director at Gastro Taverns Ltd, said The Wepre Bar & Grill will be "more food driven" as a grill and steak house and "less of a pub feel".

"There will still be a bar, however it will be more of a bar lounge than your typical British pub vibe," he said.

"The Wepre Bar & Grill will be the only grill and steak house in the Deeside area - offering top quality food, service and drinks in a relaxing, comfortable and safe environment for all.

"There will no longer be a focus on TV sports, pool tables, juke boxes or gambling machines instead the bar area will become the bar lounge boasting comfortable seating and sofas. There will be new cosy room lighting, feature and focus areas as well as a complete redecoration."

He said the restaurant is "being brought into the 21st century" with the "same ambiance" as are they aiming for within the lounge bar.

The toilets have all been removed and replaced with all new fittings, tiles, flooring and accessories.

Every Saturday night there will be a live acoustic performer playing in the new lounge bar.

Mr Saxon added: "The bar areas will be fully stocked with premium products for the whole family and the kitchen will be staffed with a whole new team of qualified and experienced chefs and assistants to compliment the new grill and steak house menu that is set to be launched in the coming week or so."
