A prestigious theatre company is set to come to Holywell this weekend for a performance of Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie.

As part of a national tour Illyria Theatre Company is bringing their outdoor production of Peter Pan to Greenfield Valley Heritage Park on Saturday (August 13).

The performance starts at 5pm and lasts for approximately 1hr and 40 minutes including a 20-minute interval. 

This is the second time that Illyria have Theatre has visited Greenfield Valley since the start of the pandemic however the previous performance was under restricted capacity.

Pippa Jagger, Countryside and Access Awareness Officer at Flintshire County Council said: "This year we with no restrictions we are looking for a sold out performance! 

"We are most certainly looking forward to the performance on Saturday."

The company Illyria was created in 1991 and they have won four international 'Best Performance' awards over the past 30 years.

To mark this milestone they are re-staging popular shows from their back catalogue.

This will include an outdoor version of Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie in Holywell this summer.

“Over the last thirty years, we have performed top-notch outdoor theatre to over a million people across the country,” said Artistic Director Oliver Gray.

“It’s a great chance for everyone to come together, enjoy the British summertime and be entertained.”

Peter Pan was first performed by the company in 1997 however this 2022 rendition is the first time there will be actual flying!

The show is suitable for age five and above and the company ask guests to bring their own seating/rug, wear suitable clothing and bring a picnic.
