A WREXHAM teenager has finally fulfilled her ambition of travelling to Tanzania to undertake conservation work and embrace the culture.

Libby Cole, 16, has been fundraising incredibly hard for over two years despite the pandemic and was able to raise enough money to take on the trip of a lifetime.

The Ysgol Clywedog pupil’s efforts saw her put on virtual dog shows, tabletop sales, a duck race, raffles, car boot sales, jewellery making, and more – which ultimately resulted in Libby reaching her target of £4000.

The unique school trip sees Ysgol Clywedog send seven students who are members of the school’s Eco Task Force to local villages helping them to build hospitals, houses, toilets, and assist children.

The trip was postponed until July 21 this year but finally the Wrexham teenager got her wish and set off to Africa with six other schoolmates.
