A WREXHAM family has thanked people who helped make a young girl's dream of going to Disneyland come true as she battles a brain tumour.

Aria Hodgkiss, from Rhostyllen, was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) - a tumour in her brain stem - on the day of her third birthday.

After recently celebrating her fourth birthday, her family was given the awful news that the tumour has grown following her latest scan.

She has just finished another course of radiotherapy and is unable to walk and has lost the use of her left arm.

DIPG is the deadliest form of childhood cancer - and Aria's family is intent on making special memories for her.

Recently, a JustGiving page was launched to raise funds for Aria and family to go on a dream holiday to Disneyland Paris.

It raised several thousand pounds - and has now allowed the family to book the trip.

The Leader:

Aria's mum, Mel, said: "Thank you so much to everyone who's helping and has helped Aria. This means so much to us as a family.

"We are praying the radiotherapy and the medication we are buying will help Aria. She has been battling DIPG now for nearly 22 months.

"She is super excited to be going to see Pluto and all her heroes. Thank you to everyone who made this possible - you are all amazing."

The family continues to fundraise to be able to afford to buy a new form of treatment Aria is receiving as part of a clinical trial out of Germany.
