THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised to get a four-year-old Wrexham girl battling an inoperable brain tumour to Disneyland.

Aria Hodgkiss, from Rhostyllen, was tragically diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) - a tumour in her brain stem - on the day of her third birthday.

DIPG is the most deadly form of childhood cancer - and, despite her bravely fighting it over the last year, Aria's family were recently given the awful news that the tumour has grown again.

The Leader:

In just a matter of weeks, Aria has lost the ability to walk, crawl and the use of her left arm.

Aria's dream is to go to Disneyland to meet all her favourite characters, Mickey & Minnie Mouse and Pluto especially.

And a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise enough money for Aria and her family to go to Disneyland Paris this summer.

The family is already currently spending thousands of pounds on a new specialist form treatment as part of a clinical trial out of Germany.

The Leader:

To date, just shy of £6,000 has been raised courtesy of generous donations - nearly doubling the target of £3,000 the family had initially set.

Aria's mum, Mel, said: "Aria loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Pluto. Also she loves Bluey and Bingo, Peppa Pig and Hey Duggee.

"To see her smile and be happy again would be amazing. Everyone have been so generous with there donations, it means so much to us as a family that people want to help Aria get to Disney.
