A FOOTBALL star from Wrexham has hailed Wales' first World Cup qualification in 64 years as a 'dream come true'.

Wales beat Ukraine 1-0 at Cardiff thanks to a deflected Gareth Bale free-kick on Sunday, June 5.

That means that Qatar 2022 now awaits Rob Page's side, where they will face the USA, Iran and old rivals England in the group stage.

Wing-back Neco Williams played for the majority of that historic victory over Ukraine before being subbed off late on.

Neco, who hails from Cefn Mawr, has starred at EFL Championship champions Fulham, on loan from Liverpool, this season.

The 21-year-old made 14 league appearances, scoring twice.

For Wales, he has become a regular starter, so far earning 20 caps and, again, scoring two goals.

He celebrated qualification to Qatar with a well-deserved bottle of Heineken and posed for a picture with team-mate and goalscorer of that all-important goal, Gareth Bale.

Neco has now returned to Champions League finalists Liverpool ahead of the 22/23 season - but is being rumoured with a move away from Anfield.

Many clubs are set to chase his signature should that be the case, particularly following another stunning display against Ukraine last night.
