WREXHAM AFC's co-owner sent fans of the club into meltdown as he teased some Gareth Bale news after Wales' historic win last night (Sunday, June 5).

Rob Page's Wales side qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar - the first time Wales has qualified for the major tournament since 1958.

Some heroics from goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and a deflected Gareth Bale free-kick made history on what was unforgettable night in Cardiff.

But there was something else which caught the eye of Wrexham AFC fans after the final whistle.

'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' star Rob McElhenney had Reds supporters dreaming of a move for Welsh wizard Bale following his latest Tweet ...

Responding to that, one Wrexham supporter said: "You can offer him one thing money can't buy: a cameo alongside Danny DeVito."

Another said: "Get Hennessy and Davies too Rob!"

A third said: "My missus thinks he already plays for us.. is she psychic? Get that cheque book out Rob, great courses at Carden for his golfing fix."

Meanwhile, a fourth, referring to Rob and Ryan's takeover of the club, wrote: "Well.... Stranger things have happened ..."

There has been a buzz all around Wrexham ever since Rob and fellow co-owner Ryan Reynolds took over the club a little over a year ago.

Could that excitement now be heightened by making a huge signing over the summer?

Bale has also been rumoured with moves back to former clubs Cardiff City and Tottenham Hotspur following his departure from Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old is Wales record goalscorer having netted 38 times in his 103 caps to date.
