WREXHAM AFC's co-owner Rob McElhenney says he 'can't wait for Saturday' as the Reds prepare for a huge National League play-off match.

Phil Parkinson's side will take on Grimsby Town at the Racecourse in the semi-final on Saturday afternoon (May 28).

And one-half of the club's much-loved Hollywood ownership has been in Wrexham today, even stopping to take pictures with locals.

'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' star Rob has been at the Racecourse ground and at the neighbouring Wrexham Glyndwr University.

It is not known for certain why Rob was in town but it is rumoured that it was as part of an upcoming documentary on Wrexham AFC.

The floodlights were lit up at the Racecourse late on Wednesday evening with film crews spotted in the area.

However, he has now seemingly confirmed that he will be at the club's play-off semi-final  on Saturday.

In a video posted to Wrexham AFC's Twitter account, he said: "I'm here at the Racecourse, although right now it's Thursday. I can't wait for Saturday, I hope to see you all here and I hope that you are loud. Go Wrexham."

The whole of Wrexham has been buzzing since McElhenney and fellow co-owner and Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds took over the club a little over a year ago.

The pair have been regularly sharing their obvious passion for the club via social media and were at Wembley for the FA Trophy final alongside some other famous faces last weekend - but the match sadly ended in a 1-0 defeat against Bromley.
