A Wrexham Thai supermarket will be celebrating food and culture for all to enjoy this summer.

Tack Thai Food is hosting their ‘Tack Thai Street Food’ festival which will feature authentic Thai food, craft stalls, massages, bar, music and Thai dancing throughout the day.

Monks will also be in attendance, who will be conducting a prayer session at 10 am and will be around to bless people throughout the day. The event will partly raise money for the monks, who are creating new spaces at their temple in Runcorn.

The supermarket has now been open for just under a year and says it sees custom from all over the UK, thanks to their online sales which deliver throughout the country.

Tack Thai Food originally set up shop in Wigan six years ago, however, needed a bigger premise for their online orders and saw potential in the warehouse they now reside in just outside of Wrexham town centre, which also houses the supermarket which is open to the public.

A spokesperson for Tack Thai Food said: “We have a captive Thai audience, they’re regular customers. They gravitate towards us because they know what they want to buy. We want to get the people that are not used to Thai food so if we can get them into the shop they can look around and we can engage them; talk about different tastes senses, feelings, talk about food.”
