DRIVERS caught speeding in a Wrexham village have been warned, police say.

Speed checks were carried out in two separate locations in Hanmer on Tuesday, March 1.

Of the 21 vehicles monitored, seven were caught to be going over the 20mph speed limit set in the village.

North Wales Police officers say it was apparent drivers were unaware of the speed limit that applies.

They added that Hanmer Community Council is currently in the process of putting a speed warning sign in place in the village.

"Twenty one vehicles were checked and seven were found to be speeding. The seven drivers speeding were warned. It appears to me drivers are unaware of the 20mph limit through the village.
