OVERGROWN grass in parts of a Wrexham churchyard has been highlighted by a community leader.

Cllr Arthur Jones told members of Gwersyllt Community Council that he had received complaints that parts of the graveyard at the village’s Holy Trinity Church was covered by grass.

Cllr Jones said one complaint was from a volunteer working for the War Graves Commission.

He reminded colleagues that the community council was paying £5,000 a year towards the churchyard maintenance costs.

The council is seeking more information about the maintenance situation from the church authorities.

The Leader has previously reported that action is being taken to deal with overgrown vegetation in the churchyard.
