A CANCER support group in Wrexham has been boosted by the addition of specialised medical professionals.
The Wrexham Prostate Cancer support group has been fundraising for years in an attempt to secure £60,000 towards specialist equipment at the Maelor Hospital.
After achieving that goal, the focus shifted to the next target with fundraising plans taking place.
While fundraising efforts are getting underway, the group is 'delighted' to welcome Yvonne Lush, the local Macmillan Cancer Information Nurse Specialist with years of nursing experience at the Maelor Hospital.
In addition to Ms Lush, the group has also recruited eight other staff members of the urology team at the Maelor, who will visit the group every month.
The support group meets on the first Wednesday of each month, with the next meeting taking place tomorrow (March 6) at the Trevor Arms, Marford at 7pm.

Group secretary Phil Jones said: "The number one objective is to raise public awareness and promotion of the cause of prostate cancer.
"We provide the warmest of welcomes and our aim is to those in our community who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, suffering issues post-treatment, or merely suspect they have symptoms.
