BRYAN HUGHES could not fault his side's performance as Wrexham lost 1-0 against Portimonense SC.
The friendly against the Portuguese top-flight outfit came during the Reds' pre-season training camp on the Algarve.
Although the hosts scored the only goal early on it the contest after Wrexham failed to deal with a free-kick, Hughes' side twice hit the woodwork and he thought his side had played well.
“I know we lost the game but it was all about the performance," said Hughes.
"Some of the things that we worked on in the training session when the fans were here, they definitely came out.
"As a manager you want to see the stuff that you have worked on at the training ground come out and on a different night we could have won the game.
“The quality of the opposition that we have come up against, they didn’t really create anything but it’s disappointing to lose from a set-piece.
“It’s something we have to work at.”
