ROB LAINTON: Not a lot to do for the most part, but dealt with he had to comfortably. 7

KEVIN ROBERTS: Comes in for criticism, but there was no faulting the right-back, who was dependable. 7

JAMES JENNINGS: Defensively sound and a threat going forward. His crossing caused problems for the visitors. 7

KIERAN KENNEDY: Would have thought he was in for a busy night, in truth he cruised through the contest alongside the skipper. 7

SHAUN PEARSON: Solid as a rock. Dealt with McCallum with considerable ease and came so close to a winner. 7

AKIL WRIGHT: Frustrating. Appears to have the tools to be a major player, but doesn’t get involved enough, although that isn’t always his fault. 6

LUKE SUMMERFIELD: Looked off the pace. Didn’t look too sure of his role in the midfield three and ended up hobbling off injured. 5

LUKE YOUNG: The pick of the bunch. Mopped up loose balls in-front of the back four and used the ball smartly, in the main. Had an awkward shot well saved. 7

BOBBY GRANT: Much-maligned, but it’s hard to feel that he’d have got the stick he has if he’d replicated this performance more often. Showed willing. 6

CHRIS HOLROYD: Given the official man of the match. Not sure he was that good, but made a nuisance of himself. 6

STUART BEAVON: The experienced frontman is full of hard work and plenty of running. Kept possession and won some headers that defied his stature. 6

SUBSTITUTES: PAUL RUTHERFORD: Gave the midfield some welcome energy at a crucial time. 6

JASON OSWELL: Physicality and another willing runner in-behind. A problem for a tiring Eastleigh defence. 6

JERMAINE MCGLASHAN: Created - and missed - a chance to be the hero moments after coming on. 5
