NO-ONE is more happy than Ben Tollitt that Wrexham's home league game against Maidstone United will go ahead on the scheduled date.

The fixture takes place on March 16, the same day that the FA Trophy semi-final first legs are being staged, and was in danger of being re-arranged due to the Stones' involvement in the competition.

But they were beaten 3-0 by Stockport in Tuesday's fourth round replay and with Tollitt's loan spell ending after the Stones visit The Racecourse, it means the winger can play in four games - rather than three - before returning to Tranmere.

"While I am here I obviously want to play as many games as I can," said Tollitt.

"With Stockport winning it is another game for me to play in and my loan carries on for a bit longer so I am made up with that.

"I came here to play games, at the minute I am playing and I want to try and carry that on.

"With the Maidstone game not being cancelled it is a bonus for me."

The 24-year-old cannot stay with Wrexham until the end of the season because he has been at The Racecourse on 28-day loan deals and will definitely return to Tranmere after his final one month stint ends following the Stones clash.

Fans are disappointed Tollitt will miss the last seven games of the season in the race for promotion and have tried to find loopholes to allow him to stay with the Reds.

"I have seen a few funny comments, trying to make me become Welsh or something like that!" said Tollitt.

"That can't happen but the support and the messages I have had have been nice.

"I have said for as long as I am here, I am going to do my best to help push Wrexham where they need to be so that doesn't change."

Manager Bryan Hughes is pleased Wrexham's schedule won't change and he will have Tollitt available against Maidstone.

"I am absolutely delighted the game is going ahead and also it would have had an implication on Ben," added Hughes.

"If it had been cancelled he would have missed the Maidstone game which would have been a big loss to us.

"Now it will go ahead, Ben is available for that one which is a bonus."
