GRAHAM BARROW could add three more players to his squad in the January transfer window.

The Reds boss has brought in striker Jason Oswell on an 18-month contract from Morecambe but would like to recruit another frontman as well as complete the permanent signing of midfielder Brad Walker and add a centre-back.

"I just want a certain type of striker," said Barrow.

"I have got one in mind, I've spoke to the club a lot but in this day and age it takes a long time to get things over the line.

"But we'll get there and if I don't get it for Tuesday, I am not being disrespectful to the Trophy but it is not at the top of our list so we have got time."

Walker has returned to Crewe after a successful loan spell and Barrow wants to keep the midfielder.

"I don't think we will get Brad done before Tuesday but I am really hopeful having spoken to the lad," said Barrow.

"There is a lot of interest from clubs in higher leagues but I don't think he can play for anybody so it gives us the advantage to get him back.

"His heart is on coming back and helping us do what we want to do."

Barrow is considering signing another centre-back with Manny Smith still troubled by a knee injury,

"Manny has had an operation so we don't know yet what the outcome was," added Barrow.

"Obviously there is only Jake Lawlor and Shaun Pearson there so that concerns me.

"We need to attack this situation now so I want the option to play with two strikers and three centre-halves.

"Hopefully by the end of the week I might have all those options open to me."
