NORTH EAST WALES climbed to fourth place in the Badminton England Central Division Four table after impressive performances against Herefordshire and Berkshire Seconds.

Despite an impressive win for Jamie Noble against Chris Hudson, Berkshire got the better of the Welsh outfit in Stratford as they wrapped up a 7-4 success.

But the North Walians, whose squad included Carys Jones, Jessica Ding, Jessica Markey, Andrew Oates and Luke Tanner, bounced back from that defeat to secure an 8-3 victory over Herefordshire.

Tomas Sudder and Fiona Reid caught the eye with a 20/21, 21/16, 21/17 success against Andy West and Rachel McGill.

Mold C, meanwhile, will fight it out with Flint Phoenix, Llanferres and Hawarden first teams in the Challenge Cup semi-finals.

A 9-7 success over Mold A secured the club's third string a place in the last four on Monday, March 11.

Flint A were 13-3 winners over Mold B, while Llanferres A defeated Holywell 11-5 and Hawarden A clinched a 12-4 success against Flint B.

The semi-final line-up for the Plate have also been decided with Buckley, Flint C, Prestatyn A and Denbigh A making up the last four on Wednesday, March 13.

Buckley got the better of Deeside 11-5 and Flint C won 10-6 against Holywell B, while Prestatyn A overcame Hawarden B 9-7 and Denbigh A defeated Prestatyn B 11-5.

In league action, Mold A boosted their hopes of a second placed finish by beating rivals Rossett A 5-3.

Mold player of the match, Lily Hird, combined with Jon Savory at second mix to beat Simon Ellis and Nicola Smith 21/7. 21/14.

Rossett bounced back from that home defeat with a comfortable 7-1 away win over Flint Phoenix B.

Phil Roberts and Zoe Moorcroft were Flint's only winners, the duo winning 14/21, 21/18, 21/16 at first mixed.

Division Two leaders Mold B had little trouble wrapping up their latest victory as they thumped Llanferres B 8-0.

Emma Hilton and Lloyd Tranter were put under the most trouble for Mold, but managed to beat Duncan Church and Sue Clarke 21/18, 18/21, 16/21.

Holywell B clinched an important 5-3 success over fellow strugglers Llanferres B, who saw Peter Williams and June Lovell beat Eryl Hooson and Becky Saunders.

Flint Phoenix C secured a 5-3 derby success over Mold C in Division Three.

Dave Stretch and Sasha James combined for victory at first mixed, winning 21/12, 10/21, 22/20.
