Friday night's clash with Bangor City cannot come soon enough for Holywell Town boss John Haseldin and his players.

Encouraged by his side’s performance in the last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Porthmadog last weekend, the Wellmen manager is relishing the next vital fixture in the club’s survival bid.

Currently 15th, Holywell are currently seven points adrift of safety, but have five games remaining to preserve their Cymru Alliance status.

Despite conceding a galling injury-time winner to Port last weekend, Haseldin has called for positivity from his players.

He said: “The Porthmadog result hurt us and if we’d taken the point we deserved out of that game it would have been a totally different mood afterwards.

“We were clapped off at the end by both sets of supporters, which tells you how well we played on the day.

“But we have to stay positive because we’ve got five huge games ahead of us and everyone’s committed to fighting right to the very end.

“No-one here accepts losing, but we have to move on quickly now and we can’t wait for the Bangor game now.

“It’s huge for us and hopefully we’ll get another big crowd behind us for a game under the lights.

“There are only two home games left now, so we’ve got be brave and fearless to face the situation we’re in head-on.

“I’m committed to getting us out of trouble. I love this club and I’m committed to it for as long as the club want me.”

The Wellmen have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash with a Bangor side routed 6-1 at home in midweek by Airbus.

Steve Halliwell has challenged his ailing Gresford Athletic side to end their league season on a high.

The out-of-form Colliers are winless in eight games and could potentially end the season as low as 12th in the table.

With Conwy Borough to visit Clappers Lane on Saturday, Halliwell wants some positive momentum to take into a NEWFA Challenge Cup final clash with Cefn Druids later this month.

He said: “We’ve gone off the boil in the last few weeks and it seems like some players have just been going through the motions because we’re in no danger of going down.

“We’ve been too nice in games and have been bullied at times by the opposition. We have to show more pride and a bit more fight against Conwy, who are another side who can hurt us if we’re not on our game.”

Jake Eyre will return to bolster the Colliers’ attack after featuring for the reserves in midweek.

Denbigh Town will look to boost their survival bid with a win at Rhyl on Friday night, while Saturday's other games see games see third-placed Porthmadog host Llanrhaeadr, Holyhead Hotspur visit Ruthin Town, and Guilsfield entertain Prestatyn Town.
