Cymru Alliance leaders Airbus have seen their scheduled away fixture at crisis-hit Bangor City postponed.

The Airmen were due to visit Bangor in a midweek clash on Tuesday, March 12 but have confirmed the game will now be rearranged at a later date.

With debts exceeding £100,000, City were dealt a further blow when their Nantporth Stadium was closed by Gwynedd Council after the water and electricity were cut off in January.

Since the stadium closure, City have been forced to play home games at alternative grounds, including Conwy and Llandudno.

The Citizens' latest postponement follows Stephen Vaughan Jr's shock return to the club.

Vaughan Jr was appointed as the club’s new chairman on Monday, March 4 following a brief spell away working as an assistant with Maltese Premier League side Mosta.

Bangor officials hope the appointment will help restore stability at the beleaguered club.

A Bangor City spokesman, said: “The plan will be to finish this season as competitive as possibly keeping within the current budget and then start to rebuild for next season.

“The first step will be to start tackling all the off-field issues and the outstanding creditors which includes the players and staff.

“The water bill has been paid and reconnected, HMRC/payroll has been paid up to date and the electricity will be turned back on.

"This will be back on within seven to 14 days.

“Vaughan Jnr will be contacting all of the club’s debtors which will enable us to clear around 70 per cent of the current creditors list.”
