QUEEN’S PARK blew the Premier Division title race wide open with a convincing 4-1 home win over out-of-form leaders Brymbo.

Josh Bettley handed Park the lead at the break, but Brymbo hit back through Ryan Clarke immediately after the restart.

Queen’s Park were not to be denied the win that moved them level on points with Brymbo, however, as Bettley, Corey Smart and Matty Wills scored.

The derby clash between Cefn Albion and Rhos Aelwyd failed to live up to billing as the former recorded a 2-1 win.

Conner Kendrick and Jordan Jones won it for Cefn.

Chirk AAA were back to their best as they secured a 5-1 success against Penycae.

The league’s leading scorer Louis Middlehurst boosted his goals tally by adding four more to his total, with Adam Williams completing Chirk’s nap hand.

Hawarden Rangers won their local derby against FC Nomads by the odd goal in seven.

On target for Hawarden were Charlie Bourne (2), Jason Lampkin and Ben Jones but the result left Nomads considerably dejected.

Nomads bossed the first-half, in which Danny Sullivan bagged a hat-trick, but some poor defensive decisions saw Hawarden roar back.

FC Nomads assistant manager Steve Hughes was left to bemoan: “It was a completely wasted chance to get another three points with some horrendous defending to put it mildly.”

Llay Welfare were second best against a rejuvenated Mold Alexandra, who wrapped up a 5-3 win.

Netting on his debut for Mold was Kevin Day, Danny Warren converted a treble and completing their nap hand was Rhys Nash.

Finding the net for Llay, who were level at 3-3 at one point, were George Finlay (2) and Liam Hughes.

Rhostyllen flopped to a 2-0 reversal against Llanuwchllyn. Joe Evans, on his debut, put the visitors in front and then a second half strike from Iwan Roberts made the points safe.

Turning to Division One, Plas Madoc were given the runaround at Rhydymwyn, but Jamie Williams netted the only goal in a 1-0 win for the leaders.

Johnstown fell to a hefty 10-1 defeat against Offa Athletic, who saw Darren Jones and Lee Bent score four goals apiece.

Completing the Offa scoresheet were Chris Hewitt and Phil Gidley, with Jamie Edwards netting the Johnstown consolation.

Mynydd Isa Spartans shared a 1-1 draw with Overton.

Isa netted through Joey Jones but Sam Jones levelled the match in the closing stages by converting a penalty.

New Brighton Villa walloped Llangollen Town 5-0. Making up their nap hand were debutant Ross Sumner, Grant Spencer, Lee Griffiths, Jack Gregory and Sam Wainwright.

In the Reserves Division, there was an incredible contribution by Jake Jones in FC Nomads’ 5-2 success over Queen’s Park.

Jones scored all five of his side’s goals, including a hat-trick of penalties, while Shane Prince and Dan Roberts reduced the arrears.

Buckley Town fought out a goalless 0-0 draw with Hawarden Rangers, while Mold Alexandra cruised to a 7-3 success over Castell Alun.

Kal Lavell netted five times for Mold, who saw Shay Harding and Dave Campbell complete their tally. Harry Brown, Ed Brown and Al Randles hit back.

In the Reserves and Colts Division, Holywell Town have gone 10 points clear at the top after narrowly defeating Cefn Albion 3-2.

On target were Mike Guest, Wayne Edwards and Ryan Jones with Callum Taylor and Keenan Bathers hitting back.

Overton suffered a 6-0 drubbing against Ruthin Town, who netted through an Osian Audley treble, Meurin Hughes (2) and Connor Lloyd.

Cefn Mawr Rangers proved to be worthy winners as they defeated Llangollen Town 5-0.

Making up the Rangers’ nap hand were Gareth Lewis, Kyle Cooper, Ryan Williams (2) and Callum McRae.

Acton stunned
