IROSHAN DE SILVA made his mark with the bat as Wales lost out to Canada at cricket’s Over-40s World Cup.

Canada secured a thumping 208-run success at Georgetown, Guyana.

De Silva’s 45 not out was the leading effort as Wales struck 185 for seven in their 45 overs.

This was in response to Canada’s imposing 393 for seven, sparked by a superb 160 from opener Bhavneet Bathla.

Wales have two games this weekend as they play Namibia tomorrow and host nation West Indies on Sunday.
