PHIL PARKINSON is without some key players but the squad he has assembled is still capable of doing a lot better,

Injuries have not helped Wrexham this season and Parkinson was without seven players for Tuesday night’s clash at home to West Brom when his side snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Although it was an uninspiring contest, the Reds took the lead just after the hour mark thanks to Kieffer Moore’s stunner but then collapsed as the Baggies were gifted two late goals to leave north Wales with three points.

It wasn’t good enough. Supporters have been used to their team winning and enjoyed lots of success over the last few years but although the Championship is a tough division, Wrexham showed they belong at this level last season. Suddenly it’s become a struggle and while injuries have taken their toll, it’s a squad game and players need to step up to the plate.

The Reds came good last term following a slow start and while tomorrow’s visitors Preston cannot be taken for granted, nothing less than a win will do to help ease the pressure.
