Plenty of promise for Airbus in clash with The New Saints

Mark Allen’s side have shown plenty of promise in their first season since gaining promotion from Cymru North and the home clash with the multiple title winners was their biggest test so far.

There was a bright start for Craig Harrison’s charges and home keeper Louie Fallon did well to save from Daniel Williams.

At the other end, Jordan Evans put in a couple of dangerous deliveries that kept the defending champions on their toes.

Daniel Williams did hand the Saints the lead when he fired a loose ball into the net and Rory Holden had an effort ruled out for offside.

There was a second goal for the visitors to celebrate before the interval, though, as Holden struck at the far post.

Opportunities were seen at both ends in the second half, with Kaiden Cooke and Evans having Airbus efforts.

With a few minutes left to play, the Wingmakers were awarded a penalty for a foul on Cooke. A lengthy delay followed and the decision was ultimately changed to a Saints’ free kick.
