WREXHAM will belatedly get their new season underway tomorrow - and it should be a Division One North cracker!
Mold are back in the top flight after a season away and they will welcome their long-standing rivals to Chester Road for what is sure to be a fierce derby.
Wrexham sat out the opening weekend while Mold were handed a tough task to begin with at Pwllheli, who ran out 42-7 winners.
Pwllheli face a tricky encounter at Caernarfon while defending champions Nant Conwy will be looking to make it two wins out of two as they entertain Llandudno.
Ruthin target their first triumph of the season at home to Bala while Llangefni make the trip to Bethesda.
Newly-promoted Wrexham Athletic will get their Division Two North tilt up and running tomorrow.
First up is a trip to Welshpool, who were relegated from Division One North last season.
Colwyn Bay head to Bangor while Bro Ffestiniog entertain Teirw Nant Conwy.
There’s a derby clash as Abergele make the short trip to Rhyl & District, while Dolgellau host Machynlleth.
Also gunning to make sure their season gets off to the best possible start are RGC.
Their Super Rygbi Cymru opener is tomorrow’s trip to Newport and forward Harper Chamberlain is looking forward to the campaign.
He told the club website: “It’s exciting to get the season going, especially with a tough first fixture against Newport.
“We put in a good performance against Coventry and, hopefully, we can build on that as we head into the new season.
“We’ve been working hard in pre-season and we’re all looking forward to the challenge and hopefully starting the season with a strong performance.”
It was an entertaining friendly against Coventry, who ran out 47-35 winners. Daf Thirsk, Jac Williams, Dion Jones and Tal Taylor shared the home tries.
After the game, head coach Jon Callard said: “Today was about seeing what we have as a group, because this is the squad we have going into the season ahead.
“We know the challenge that awaits us in the Super Rygbi Cymru, and we’re really looking forward to it.”
Aberavon and Carmarthen Quins start off at home to Bridgend and Cardiff respectively, Swansea travel to Ebbw Vale and Llandovery visit Pontypool in the late kick-off.
