PHIL PARKINSON has asked supporters to trust the process as Chester look to make a return to winning ways in National League North.
The Blues’ unbeaten start was ended by a 1-0 reverse to Morecambe on Monday but things don’t get any easier tomorrow as Chester head to Hebburn Town.
Hebburn went into Monday’s matches at the top of the league, before their own undefeated start was halted by a 3-0 loss to new front-runners Macclesfield.
Parkinson (pictured below) told Chester FC TV: “Everyone’s just got to have a bit of perspective, that Morecambe are going to be a really big team in this division.
“They were champions-elect at the start. But, I think everyone can see there’s nothing between us, considering we’re a brand new outfit, six games in now and we’ve just narrowly been beat by, like, a team that everyone was saying was going to do exceptionally well.
“So, I’m really proud of my young players. We’ve got 18-year-olds in there, 21-year-olds. They played our way as well.
“We won’t deviate away from that. I got a sense of a bit of unease at times when we went one behind, because they’ve not been used to that while we’ve been playing.
“But, we’re not going to go away from that. So, people get behind us, please. We need that and if you don’t, you don’t.
“But, we will play our way. I’ll live and die by the sword. If I die by the sword, I’ll do that but, listen, we’ve won four, drawn one, lost one.
“I would have took that any day of the week at the start of the season.”
