NORTH WALES CRUSADERS’ battles on the pitch have come to an end, but the off-the-field fight continues.
Following a turbulent year, Crusaders completed their Championship fixtures with a 98-0 reverse at Midlands Hurricanes.
Now, the club is continuing its efforts to make sure a licence is in place from the RFL to compete in 2028. A club statement read: “Our fans and volunteers are the lifeline of North Wales Crusaders.
“Your commitment, time and unwavering support keep this club moving forward, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.
“It feels as though our biggest challenge is now upon us as we fight for licence approval.
“But, as always, we will face it together - with pride, determination and the strength of our Crusaders family. Thank you for standing with us.”
In light of the demise of the previous club earlier this year, the RFL board confirmed that a new ownership group, under the company name NW Rugby League 26 Limited, had received approval to take on the membership for the club until the end of the current season.
Since the takeover, Cru have been under an obligation to work closely with the RFL, with membership in place for the remainder of the 2026 season only. Any future participation is conditional on a comprehensive business plan being provided to the governing body before being admitted for the 2027 fixture list.
